Cara Elle - Freelance Model from the DMV

“That tattoo used to be my devotion to him, but now it is a devotion to myself and all of my growth.”
I don't consider myself as art like I consider myself a canvas, literally, as well as psychologically. My body tells stories through tattoos the same way my mind creates meaning in my experiences. I guess you could say I become art in photographs, but even then, it's the image that is art - not me. I'm just creating the meaning.
I used to give my everything to a guy who would reciprocate with every form of abuse. I was, weak, easily manipulated, anxious, and a push over all because I allowed this guy to treat me. We got a tattoo of the number 5, which was "our number", in roman numerals on our ring fingers to show our devotion to one another.
After six years of torture, I finally recognized my self worth and I didnt want to be treated or feel like absolute garbage anymore. I ended it for good.
That tattoo used to be my devotion to him, but now it is a devotion to myself and all of my growth.
My goals are to constantly create and experience. From working with a pack of wolves to enduring the cold of the Mojave desert. I want people to look at my work and really think about all that is going into this one picture.
